Class #900: Put Your Paintings in Perspective with Robert Krajecki

This 5 week course is based on Robert Krajecki's best-selling book, "Put Your Paintings in Perspective" - a non-mechanical approach to linear perspective.

Week 1 explains the basic concept of linear perspective which includes Picture Plane, Station Point, Eye Level or Horizon Line, and the difference between one, two and three-point perspective

Week 2 using photographic references, learn how to find vanishing points within a composition, and how to change them.

Week 3 explains how to create and find vanishing points for inclined planes, or any surface that is not horizontal.

Week 4 explains measuring systems to help you place objects within a composition in the correct proportion.

Week 5 explores cast shadows and how to change them in a composition.

He continued his studies at the American Academy of Art and the Chicago Academy of Fine Art in Chicago. He received his degree in watercolor painting and started teaching full-time at the American Academy of Art in 1972. Bob is currently teaching at the Palette and Chisel Academy and at the Kaneville Community Center in the Western suburbs.
