Workshop 2: Landmarks of the Anterior Torso
Join us for three hours of intensive head and neck drawing from a live model focused on the chest and abdomen and a simultaneous lecture on the associated anatomy, including identification of bony and muscular surface landmarks, comparison of these to anatomical images, and discussion of each structure's variations.
Future workshops in this series will occur every 4 to 6 weeks and will include
- posterior torso
- shoulders and arms
- hips and legs
- hands and feet
- This class will take place in the 2nd floor drawing studio.

Kristin Mount studied Illustration at Northern Illinois University and earned her masters degree in Biomedical Visualization from the University of Illinois at Chicago. Specializing in medical illustration, Kristin dissected cadavers, attended surgeries, and spent many late nights drawing and painting anatomy, cell structure, pathologies, and surgical procedures. Kristin has been a freelance medical illustrator since 1993 and has taught illustration and Anatomy at the American Academy of Art in Chicago since 2005. She has previously taught Anatomical Drawing at the Palette and Chisel, and she is also a research advisor at UIC's current Biomedical Visualization program.
