In the late nineteenth and early twentieth centuries, American artists flocked to Paris and London. Very few were successful in becoming famous and earning the regard of the European critics and patrons. James McNeill Whistler, John Singer Sargent, and Mary Cassatt became the celebrated exception to the rule. Instructor will send registered students a Zoom link prior to the first day of class.
