Paula Herrera
Paula Herrera is a Chilean modern independent singer & songwriter graduated from “Escuela Moderna de Música" and also studied acting at the Escuela de Teatro of Fernando González. She has been tirelessly pursuing her dreams for a few years now and through passion and hard work Paula has been able to release six independent albums. No doubt, these have helped here to shape a beautiful career.
After two initial albums with a pop band format, in 2011 she decided to go back to her own name “Paula Herrera” and embarked on a successful tour through Europe. Then, Paula released her third album "Verde Y Celeste", a clean break into a unique style that could be described as "electronic folklore". This is something that brought her much closer to her southern origins in the agrarian town of Curicó.
In 2012 she presented us with her fourth production “La discreción del caracol”, an album charged with modern folklore that shines from its "minimalist' approach. "This time the challenge was to work from the concept of scarcity, with less elements. After graduating from music school I felt like I wanted to put in practice everything I had learned, do everything big... but time and more experience have taken me back to basics, to my true essence".
In 2013, Paula represented Chile and won "La Gaviota de Plata" Award for best song (folklore category) in the prestigious Hispanic Song Festival of Viña del Mar, with her song “Con el zapatito, con el zapatón”.
In 2014 Paula was invited to participate in Exib Music Festival in Bilbao, then she made her second tour in Europe where she performed in several countries such as Spain, France, Germany and Switzerland.
In 2016 Paula launched her album "De la rosa y el espino" followed a successful tour in Guatemala and Mexico.
In May 2020 Paula launched her sixth album called “La tormenta” (The storm). Her song Cielo Rosa (from that album) wins the contest "El canto de todas - Scottie Scott"on its first edition.
Today Paula lives in Chicago, where she presented her new album Yo No Sé, produced by the chilean pianist and producer Marcos Meza, completely composed during the pandemic while isolated in the Chilean little town of Los Molles, also she is working on her own vocal method “The Healing Song Therapy”.
