Class #567: Oil Painting - Simplifying Color with Michael Van Zeyl

Open to all levels. Beginners welcome and encouraged!
This class is designed to help you make informed color decisions, mix color faster and organize your palette better to paint the color you want. We will learn about the Munsell System and the three attributes of color; VALUE, CHROMA and HUE as well as the capabilities and properties of paint. You will create the necessary tools to help you develop harmonious paintings including: A value scale and color charts for each hue.
- The paint is included in the tuition price.

Michael is a graduate of the American Academy of Art in Chicago. While running his own graphic design studio, Michael took evening and weekend classes here at the Palette and Chisel and in New York at the Art Students League to advance his training as an artist. Michael is now a full-time professional artist and has been exhibiting work in various shows and galleries the nation. He has received many commissions, honors and awards from: Portrait Society of America, Oil Painters of America and Art Renewal Center.
