#154: Figure Drawing: Essentials of Form with Helen Oh

This course focuses on the essentials of rendering 3D volume, weight-bearing, and balance, when drawing the figure. In long poses, students will construct convincing and expressive form in life drawings.
Each session begins with the instructor's demo. Students will work with various media, including pencil, charcoal, and liquid graphite, to produce dynamic and unique effects.
Open to all levels.
- The class will meet in our second floor studio.
There is a $60 model fee payable to the instructor.

Helen Oh is a visual artist. She studied painting at the School of Visual Arts, the National Academy of Design, and The Art Students League in New York. Helen teaches studio art courses at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago and annual workshops at the New York Academy of Art.
Helen is a recipient of two Elizabeth Greenshields Foundation Grants, and a Julius Hallgarten Painting Prize from the National Academy Museum. She has exhibited at the Peggy Notebaert Nature Museum, the Terra Museum of American Art, and the Butler Institute of American Arts. Collections include Columbia University and The Americas Society in NYC. Helen regularly contributes articles to the Tutorials section of the Artists Magazine.
