Kiln carving is a technique in fused glass that lets you form impressions or emboss glass in the kiln by using fiber paper.  In this workshop, students will create two small samples and one plate. Students will be introduced to fiber paper, brainstorm some ideas, then practice cutting fiber paper to make two samples. These will be fired in the kiln overnight and reviewed the next morning. Plate design will be discussed and students will develop a custom design from their cut fiber paper forms to create a one-of-a-kind plate. Minimum age 14. More info: byergoem@gmail.com. 2 sessions.
