Discover the art of sculptural basketry in this hands-on introductory workshop, where

structure meets creativity and color comes alive. Working with reed in a range of sizes,

you'll explore the interplay of flexibility and form — learning what the material wants

to do, and then coaxing it to dance. We begin with a jig to help you shape and build structure from the ground up, giving your sculpture a strong foundation. From there, it's all color, texture, and movement. We provide all tools and materials—just bring yourself! This class is designed for weavers of all levels, from absolute beginners to experienced makers. Due to the nature of the craft, hand dexterity is required. $25 materials fee due at workshop.
