Core of Knowledge Hours: 25 Professionalism, 6 Community, and 3 Health, Safety & Nutrition IMPORTANT: Participants must be registered child care providers in order to take this series. This ten-week series is designed to help home-based child care educators develop tools to manage and grow their child care business. We will cover key aspects of managing a home-based child care business to ensure long-term business sustainability. During the series, participants will learn about contracts, policies, marketing, risk management, accounting, record keeping, and more. The All Our Kin Virtual Business Series supports adult learners to have positive and successful learning experiences, so they leave with the knowledge and relationships to sustain and grow their family child care businesses. This series is in English and will be entirely virtual through Zoom (see dates below). Attendance is required at each session. |

Kenia Almendarez
Kenia Almendárez es la Consejera de Negocios de Cuidado Infantil para Montgomery County Child Care Support Services. Con una Licenciatura en Contabilidad y experiencia previa trabajando en diferentes firmas de Impuestos y Contabilidad; hace algunos años, Kenia decidió hacer un cambio en su carrera y comenzó a trabajar con MCCCSS en el departamento de capacitación y apoyando a nuevos proveedores con su proceso de aplicacion a través del programa GoFCC; en su rol actual como Consejera de Negocios de Cuidado Infantil, trabaja en estrecha colaboración con empresarios de cuidado infantil en el hogar para guirales con sus nuevos negocios y proporcionar bases comerciales para sus programas; así como apoyar a negocios de cuidado infantil existentes a través de capacitación, coaching y asistencia técnica promoviendo mejores prácticas comerciales, incentivando la sostenibilidad y automatización para respaldar sus conocimientos y habilidades administrativas que, en última instancia, ayudarán a mejorar sus negocios. Ha participado en programas de iniciativa estatal para ayudar a mejorar el panorama comercial de la industria del cuidado infantil en Maryland, y también sirve como enlace con otras organizaciones para promover la sostenibilidad a largo plazo de los negocios de cuidado infantil en nuestro condado.
Kenia Almendárez is the Child Care Business Counselor for Montgomery County Child Care Support Services. With a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting and previous experience working at different Tax and Accounting firms, Kenia decided to make a career change a few years ago and began working with MCCCSS in the training department and supporting new providers with their application process through the GoFCC program. In her current role as Child Care Business Counselor, she works closely with home-based child care entrepreneurs to guide their new businesses and provide business foundations for their programs, as well as supporting existing child care businesses through training, coaching, and technical assistance promoting best business practices, incentivizing sustainability, and automation to support their knowledge and management skills that will ultimately help improve their businesses. She has participated in state initiative programs to help improve the business landscape of the child care industry in Maryland, and also serves as a liaison with other organizations to promote the long-term sustainability of child care businesses in our county.
