The ABCD’s of Safe Sleep
MEETS THE COMAR REQUIREMENT: As infant and toddler caregivers, it is important to understand SIDS and sleep-related deaths, including the many strategies which can be implemented to reduce the risk of sleep-related death. Participants will review what is SIDS and sleep-related death, review recent research and statistics, gain greater understanding of the role child care plays in keeping infants safe, and the recommendations and strategies for keeping children safe.

I am a native Washingtonian, a boy mom, soon to be mom of two men. My family is my everything. I am a nature lover, Do-It(all)-Yourselfer, and I am my brother's keeper. I have been a Registered Nurse for 25 years. In various settings I've cared for bodies and minds. I have served the pediatric population for most of my career. I was a school nurse in Washington DC and Virginia. Working in community health makes my heart happiest. I earned a masters degree in 2016 with the intent to teach nursing. In 2017 I began a new path in Montgomery County as a Child Care Health Consultant. It has been a pleasure to support the professional development of early educators, my community health heroes.
