Healthy Children Through Nutrition and Physical Activity
Our nations’ children are at risk for being the first generation that may have a shorter life span than their parents due to poor nutrition and lack of physical activity. This training will help the child care teaches be better informed about the food choices, how to prepare a balanced, healthy menu, and creative movement activities to do throughout the day to increase the physical fitness levels of children in their care. Appropriate for preschool and school age programs.

Teresa Delisi
Teresa DeLisi has worked in the early childhood education field for over 35 years. Her love of children led her to her first job as a preschool teacher. Within time, she became a director of a campus-based laboratory school in Montgomery County, Md. During that time, she served as an adjunct faculty teaching child development and other related courses. She holds a Bachelor of Science degree from Towson University and a Master’s of Science in the field of Human Sciences from Hood College. Throughout the years, she has served on the Montgomery County Commission on Child Care and also sat on the board of the National Coalition for Campus Child Care.
Her love of supporting teachers, families and children have led her to her current roles as an early childhood trainer and coach to Montgomery County programs. Currently, she serves as a Maryland State Department of Education accreditation validator to neighboring counties. When she is not working, she loves hiking, gardening and spending time with her family and four fur babies.
