With their Teaching Artist, students will adapt a storybook into a play by adding sound, movement, dialogue, and creative staging. They will help the Teaching Artist stage the play then rehearse throughout the week. This camp will culminate in a performance, or “sharing” on Friday at 3 pm in our main auditorium. At this level, the Teaching Artist is part of the play to ensure a safe, confident performance environment.Junior Theatre Voyagers focuses on teaching very important basic acting skills. Students will learn to use the three primary tools of an actor, the voice, body, and imagination, to create characters on stage. They will learn how to take their own creative impulses and ideas and commit to those ideas through the creation of a play as an ensemble.
