Toys Week Ages 10-12
Camp | Available
Anything becomes possible when you let your imagination take over. What kind of stories can you create about toys? Your favorite toys from the past? New toys of the future?
This camp focuses on scripted scene work or devising techniques as well as deeper acting technique.
Students rehearse scenes from plays written for young performers, or work to write their own scripts while learning core acting fundamentals like objectives, motivation, tactics, and character development — the same tools introduced in collegiate training programs.
Campers receive individualized coaching and work together to refine voice, movement, and ensemble skills. The week concludes with an informal sharing for family and friends. Details for which will be emailed upon registration.
Students practice:
Script analysis and understanding a playwright’s intention
Memorizing and delivering dialogue with purpose
Making motivated character choices
Listening and responding truthfully on stage
Blocking and stage direction vocabulary
Working with props and costumes
Building ensemble trust
Strengthening focus and discipline
Each session features different scenes, making this camp ideal for continued growth and repeat participation.
