Trailblazers: Stories Without Borders
Class | Available
How does the way we tell stories change across cultures, places, and communities? Students will examine global folktales and storytelling forms before using them as inspiration for original theatre. Through improvisation, scripted material, ensemble exercises, and devised scene work, students will develop characters, identify conflict, shape a clear story, and make intentional choices with voice, movement, and staging. The class will emphasize respectful exploration, collaboration, and the difference between learning from a culture and reducing it to stereotypes.
In-Class Sharing: During the final class, families will experience a student-created collection of scenes and theatrical pieces demonstrating the ensemble’s research, experimentation, and artistic choices.
