Sunsets Over Water- All Mediums

The Arts | Available (Membership Required)

Sunsets over water are beautiful. Whether you have produced sunset paintings or reflections not, you will be able to produce beautiful paintings using techniques and procedures that you will learn in this class. There will be step-by-step instructions and, if you wish, one-on-one help. Sunsets and water can be done with a variety of mediums. A supply list will be provided when you register.   • Needed Supplies

    The instructor will bring this these supplies or you can bring some or all these supplies

    1.  Two non-breakable [plastic] container for water

    2.  #2H pencil

    3.  Vinyl eraser

    4.  140lb or heavier watercolor paper [your choice of size]

    5.  Soft paper towels

    6.  A set of watercolors – a pan set of watercolors or individual tubes

    7.  Small round pointed watercolor brush

    8. Medium round pointed watercolor brush

    9.  Optional:  Medium filbert watercolor brush

    10.  Large flat foam brush 

    11.  Round sponge

    12.  Masking fluid OR rubber cement


    Needed Supplies - You need to bring all these supplies

    1.  Plastic sheet to cover your table

    2. Acrylic paint colors:  black, red, yellow, orange, purple, blue

    3. Two containers to hold water

    4. Soft paper towels

    5. Liquid soap

    6. HB or #2 pencil

    7. Vinyl easer

    8. Palette - such as:  white Styrofoam plates OR white Corel plate

    9. Three canvas boards or stretched canvas – your choice of size

    10.  Round pointed synthetic [acrylic] brush

    11. Optional:  Filbert synthetic [acrylic] brush – big brush for a big canvas, small brush for small canvas

Allen Reamer

Allen Reamer, Allen - Has produced art and taught studio art and art history for most of his life.  He was fortunate to come from generations of artists.  His undergraduate, graduate, and post-graduate education was in studio art and art history.  Allen has taught high school to graduate-level classes.  He has been recognized by various organizations for his teaching and artwork.  He has been active  in local and national art organizations, including representing D.C. art educators at the national level for a decade. He teaches over 175 studio art classes and over 230 art history classes.
