Building Your Field(s) of Dreams

Social Science/History | Available (Membership Required)

Since its release in 1989, the movie Field of Dreams has captured the imaginations of millions of people who have seen it. And at least one line from the movie (“If you build it, he will come.”) has become a call to dream about possibilities and to follow those dreams. Each year, more than 300,000 people visit the iconic field near Dyersville, Iowa. Even an episode of American Pickers included a visit to the field to celebrate Mike Wolfe’s birthday. In this workshop, we will discuss our own fields of dreams and how they have encouraged or even inspired us to pursue opportunities that sometimes may feel out of reach. We will also write briefly so that each of us has an opportunity to describe how we have pursued our dreams.
