Wolves & Coyotes

Natural Science/Math | Registration opens 1/5/2026 12:00 AM MST (Arizona)

Join us as we take a closer look into the highly adaptable Coyote; an extraordinarily intelligent and opportunistic species! Afterwards, we will delve deeper into the history of Arizona’s wolves and what caused them to become extinct and how AZGFD, along with other federal and state agencies, have reintroduced the Mexican Gray Wolf back into our ecosystem! Come prepared to learn this and more during our Wolves and Coyotes Presentation, instructed by Jeff Meyers, Wildlife Biologist, at the Arizona Game and Fish Department.

Jeff Meyers

Meyers, JeffJeff grew up in western Massachusetts, but has been a resident of Arizona for more than 29 years, where he attended Arizona State University and Northern Arizona University for his undergraduate and graduate degrees, respectively. After spending several years teaching Earth Science, he left the sciences for the better part of a decade to work as the Director of Intellectual Property for a medical device company. Returning to his passion, Jeff is now a wildlife biologist for the Arizona Game & Fish Department, managing the Wildlife Viewing Program (WVP), and enjoys working to educate the public about wildlife and habitat conservation.
