The board game Monopoly started out as The Landlord's Game, an anti-monopoly teaching tool made by writer-feminist Lizzie Magie in 1903. Of course, today it has become one of the most popular games in the history of commerical game production, being found in 46 langauges and being made in over 1700 variations from four Elvis versions to a Heinz Ketchup edition. We will look at the history of the game; interesting facts about the game pieces, board, and rules; Monopoly organizations and competitions.
