From Reefer Madness to the state of Arizona licensing marijuana dispensaries, what a long, strange trip it’s been. This course reviews the history of medical use of marijuana, including the modern medical marijuana movement in Arizona. Starting with the numerous ancient medical applications to the modern uses, missuses, and abuses of cannabis, this class will cover the history of our relationship with the plant, modern approaches to growing, processing, and consuming the plant as well as the politics and policies governing marijuana.
