Chocolate!

Although chocolate has been consumed in Central and South America for many centuries, only in the 1800's was it first sweetened and processed into the form we know today. In this session, we will look at several aspects of chocolate: the cacao plant, Aztec use of chocolate, popularity of chocolate in Europe and U.S., manufacture of chocolate, types of chocolate.
Bill Blaker
Bill Blaker is retired after a 45-year career as a research scientist and university professor. He has received teaching awards from Virginia Tech and Furman University. He has taught university courses in general science, biology, anatomy and physiology, biochemistry, neuroscience, English composition, statistics, and philosophy. Now, he teaches anything he finds interesting.
