The Wyeths are a remarkable family of artists. N.C. Wyeth was the father of three generations of artists. He did not come from an artistic family, but he became a nationally known illustrator. N.C.’s art work transcended illustrations to become fine art. While his son, Andrew, and grandson, Jamie, are the best known, and both became an instant success in New York, there are many other Wyeth artists. In this lecture, we will look at the lives of this family of artists and their works of art. We will begin with N.C. and continue with the generations of artists.
Allen Reamer
Allen Reamer, Allen - Has produced art and taught studio art and art history for most of his life. He was fortunate to come from generations of artists. His undergraduate, graduate, and post-graduate education was in studio art and art history. Allen has taught high school to graduate-level classes. He has been recognized by various organizations for his teaching and artwork. He has been active in local and national art organizations, including representing D.C. art educators at the national level for a decade. He teaches over 175 studio art classes and over 230 art history classes.
